Daniel Cohen
Growing up in The Netherlands and Portugal, I was introduced to osteopathy as an effective treatment of my own sporting injuries at an early age.
Now a Senior Lecturer in Osteopathy at Oxford Brookes University, I currently spend two and a half days a week lecturing and the rest of the week in private practice in central London and Pinner - Middlesex.
Since qualifying from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) in London in 2003, where I have also since taught, I have continued to develop and grow my practice.
My treatment approach is very much focused on the musculo-skeletal system. I believe strongly that education of the patient is important and so am keen to pass on some fundamental principles of osteopathy to my patients, including:
Structure and function are inter-related (for example, poor posture can affect lung function);
The body has the capacity to heal itself in the correct environment;
Nutrition is the foundation for good health; and
Psychology plays a big part in the healing process.
